Dragon Pizza, located at 233 Elm Street in Somerville's Davis Square, was the scene of a dramatic stand-off between popular pizza reviewer Dave Portnoy and the eatery's owner (who Portnoy called a "f**** crazy ass left-wing liberal").

Before the drama, Portnoy picked up a large cheese pizza and explained to the camera that the pizza may not be as good as it could have been because he delayed picking it up to get a new shirt from a vintage store across the street.

"Super floppy," he said. "It's a floppy mess... Strong parm, this is an acquired taste."

Portnoy says that while those who like parmesan may like the the pizza, but it wasn't for him. He scored the pie as a 6.4 out of 10.

The pizzeria's owner stepped outside the shop to address Portnoy, who was speaking with a passerby.

"Enjoy your pizza as any customer, but I don't appreciate what you do, coming in and judging a business with just one bite," said Dragon Pizza's owner. "Enjoy your pizza, but I don't appreciate what you do to small businesses."

Portnoy responded by saying that he has helped many small businesses. The owner stepped back inside but ducked out again shortly after without the guise of politeness.

"Let me be clear, get the fuck out of the front of my business," the owner spat at Portnoy. The two swapped verbal jabs laden with curse words, and the owner threatened to call the cops.

"Your shirt is six sizes too small, fatso," Portnoy said at one point.

People on the street seemed to take Portnoy's side, asking to pose for pictures and calling themselves Portnoy's fans.

"Good job standing up for yourself," said a passerby who got a piece of pizza and a selfie from Portnoy.
